Greetings

It is a great pleasure to announce that we will hold Asian EUS Congress2019 at Schonbach Sabo in Tokyo.

Asian EUS Group (AEG) is a non-profit organization founded in 2012 for the purposes (1) to propagate knowledge and skills of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) in Asian countries, (2) to formulate guidelines on diagnosis and treatment using EUS and Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA), and (3) to conduct joint study on EUS and EUS-FNA EUS. With its head office located in Singapore and Professor Lawrence Ho (National University Hospital in Singapore) as Chairman, AEG has 21 Asian countries as members. Representing Japan and as one of seven Steering Committee members, I take part in deciding AEG’s projects. For the first purpose, propagation of knowledge and skills of EUS, we hold Asian EUS Congress every two years. The first Congress took place in Seoul, South Korea, and the second Congress in Mumbai, India.

The Congress scheduled to take place in April 12-14, 2019, in Tokyo, Japan with a theme “From Basics to Advanced Applications, and Future Perspectives” will call for participants from Asian countries and expect more than 500 endoscopists participants.

We look forward to meeting you here in Tokyo.

Asian EUS Congress2019
Organizing Committee Chairman, Mitsuhiro Kida
(Professor, Department of Gastroenterology, Kitasato University)

On behalf of the Asian EUS Group (AEG), I would like to warmly welcome all of you to participate in the Asian EUS Congress 2019 in Tokyo, Japan. This is the 3rd Congress hosted by the AEG following successes of the 1st, and 2nd congresses in Seoul, and Mumbai, respectively. We are grateful to Prof Mitsuhiro Kida and his able team, for taking up the challenge of organizing the Asian EUS Congress 2019. Already, they have drawn up an incredibly comprehensive, educational, and innovative program which will surely cater for the intellectual tastes of all the participants. I strongly encourage all of you to learn as much as possible from the faculty and your fellow colleagues during the Congress.

As EUS is still a very much evolving endoscopic technology, much more can be done to scale up the adoption of the best practices, and to develop novel techniques and training methods to make the procedures more effective and safe for our patients. We are confident that the Asian EUS Congress 2019 will provide the ideal platform to serve those 2 key purposes.

We are thankful to Prof Kida, and his team for being so hospitable as to hold the Congress during the cherry blossom season in Japan. I am sure the conducive ambience will contribute much to our learning experience. I sincerely hope to see all of you there.

Best wishes,

Chairman, Asian EUS Group, Lawrence Khek-Yu Ho
(Professor, Department of Medicine, National University of Singapore)

Dear Friends,

In 12th – 14th April 2019, the 3rd Asian EUS congress would be held in Tokyo, Japan. We extend our warmest welcome to invite you to join the congress. Throughout the last 6 years, we have witnessed the exponential growth of the Asian EUS group and currently our membership not only covers central Asia, but also from Australia to some Middle East countries. The group has also contributed extensively to research and education of EUS in Asia. We have held numerous workshops in EUS around Asia and we have had several publications in high impact international journals. As a group, we are very proud of our achievements and the Asian EUS congress serves as a meeting place for all of us to gather and exchange ideas for current and future development. In addition, the congress will showcase in depth discussion of basic and advanced EUS techniques, live demonstrations and hands-on sessions that would be educational to endosonographers of all stages. Finally, April is the month of cherry blossom in Japan and participants could certainly embrace on the natural delights that Japan alway offer to its visitors.
